A unified approach to DSL support in IDEs

Based on some comments to the blog post on DSL descriptors in Groovy-Eclipse, we should be discussing a more unified approach to DSL support in both Groovy-Eclipse and IntelliJ. Other IDEs, such as NetBeans, Emacs, etc could also benefit from this kind of unified approach.
